Books

My bookshelves groan under the weight of paper, although most of my reading material is biased more towards the Fantasy end of SF. Reading alphabetically I have - Isaac Asimov, Robert Asprin, Margaret Attwood, Gael Baudino, James Blish (Mostly the ST script re-writes), Marion Zimmer Bradley (mostly Darkover) C.J. Cherryh, Diane Duane & Peter Morwood, David (and Leigh) Eddings, Alan Dean Foster, Mary Gentle, Simon Hawke, Robert Heinlein, Frank Herbert, Guy Gavriel Kay, Julian May, Anne McCaffrey (Pern, Crystal Singers and the Brain-ship Stories), Melanie Rawn (also see my filks), Jennifer Roberson (Tiger & Del), Michael Scott Rohan & JRR Tolkien. With several 'one or two-off' Star Trek novels.

I read H.M.S. Ulysses at school. That is what interested me in Alistar Maclean, so I have several of his. I also have a complete collection of Hornblower books and an up to date collection of Bolitho books by Alexander Kent. Further to the Napoleonic theme, I have begun to collect, and read, the novels of Patrick O'Brien (Jack Aubrey/Steven Maturin) and Bernard Cornwell. (Sharpe).

Other non SF authors include Richard Carpenter, Ian Fleming,  Georgette Heyer, Baroness Orczy, Ellery Queen & Gore Vidal. I also have the Complete Yes Minister and both Yes Prime Minister volumes. I have some of the classics, Oliver Twist, Jane Eyre, Man in the Iron Mask, Robinson Crusoe, Gone with the Wind (although I haven't read that yet!).
